We’re all looking for ways to save money, right? Who wouldn’t be? That is why we have put together a list of some very simple items you don’t need to buy. By cutting out these few things, you’ll see a huge increase in the amount of money you save over just a short period of time!
Plastic baggies aren’t necessary
Yes, we know that plastic baggies are more convenient for leftovers and storing small items in the home. It may not seem like it, but plastic bags can spend actual centuries in the local landfills. Instead, switch to reusable baggies that can be washed out and used time and again. They aren’t any more expensive than the disposable kind, and you’ll be helping your environment by using them.
Cable companies, who needs them?
Do you really need that expensive cable bill month after month? With so many streaming options to choose from, you can watch basically anything you would like without paying for cable television. Do you already pay for Amazon Prime? Enjoy Prime Video as part of the service! Check out other streaming services, such as Hulu, Sling TV, Netflix, and more.
Dining out. Less is more
Yes, going out to eat is a luxury we should all enjoy now and again. No one wants to make their own food day in and day out! However, you can reduce how much you spend on dining out with a few simple tips. If you go out for lunch during your workday, start packing your lunch instead. Pack things you enjoy so you don’t feel like you are missing out! Instead of dinner dates, meet for early appetizers. You could even have an appetizer spread at home to make dinner feel a little fancier!
Impulse buys you don’t need
We often spend hours a day browsing various online shops. If you are on any kind of social media, then you know how many ads can pop up based on your recent purchases and browsing history! Stop making impulse buys online to build up your bank account. If you really like something, add it to the online shopping cart. Then, let it sit there for a day or more to see if you really want it. You may even get a better deal this way! Some online companies will send you an email with a discounted price if they see something untouched in your cart.
Forgot the paper products
Instead of buying a large pack of paper towels, choose a pack of microfiber cloths. They generally cost the same but will last a lot longer. If you have company over from time to time, buy a pack of cloth napkins to save for special occasions. Put a mini garbage can or hamper under your sink to throw your dirty towels in to keep things looking neat.
Go easy on the cleaning products
It’s easier than you probably think to replace some of your expensive cleaning products with other things. Baking soda and white vinegar are two cheap, common household items that can double as cleaning products. Google how to concoct your own cleaning solutions at home, and we know you will see how much money you can save in the long run!
